Winter Series Week 3 Power Rankings

There was quite a bit of moving and shaking in the Power Rankings from last week. Let’s take a look at how they stack up!

    10. Clinton Snead (-3)

Snead struggled in Talladega and was only able to come away with a best finish of 14th in race 2. He loses 3 spots in the Power Rankings but manages to stay in the Top 10 as he looks forward to the rest of the season.

    9. Ryan Blume (-5)

With two finishes outside the Top 10 this week, Talladega was not the night that Ryan hoped for. As a result, he falls down the Power Rankings. He will need a solid performance in Kansas to work his way back toward the top.

    8. Clint Castleberry (UR)

Castleberry joined the series for this week’s race in Talladega and kicked things off with a P4 finish in race 1 before just missing a Top 10 in race 2.

    7. Jonathan Tuckness (-2)

Jonathan struggled to get anything going in Talladega and only managed a best of a 10th place finish. He will certainly be looking to rebound as we head back to an Intermediate track next week.

    6. Joseph Plauger (+3)

Joseph had a quiet, steady night in Talladega and picked up a pair of Top 10 finishes. These results move him up 3 spots in this weeks Power Rankings, and he hopes to continue that climb next week in Kansas.

    5. Nathan Rogge (UR)

Nathan was a series newcomer this week and certainly made his presence known. If he continues to perform at a high level, he will undoubtedly continue to move up the Power Rankings.

    4. Bradley Rivers (+4)

Bradley had a great night of racing in Talladega and finished the night with a podium finish in race 2. He looks to build on that momentum as the season continues.

    3. Gabriel Ellison

Ellison managed a pair of Top 10s at Talladega to hold onto 3rd place in the Power Rankings. He will certainly want to find his way back to Victory Lane next week.

    2. Michael Sturgill (-1)

Three second place finishes in a row has Sturgill in a really strong spot to start the season, but he is still going to be the bridesmaid in this week’s rankings. He will be looking to do one spot better next week at Kansas.

    1. Nicholas Gowin (+1)

Nicholas Gowin dominated the Talladega Turkey Trot and picked up both wins for the night. With 3 wins in 4 races, he solidly moves to the number 1 spot in the this week’s Power Rankings.

Winter Series Week 2 Power Rankings

Now that the first week of the season is in the books, we thought it would be a great time to release the Series’ inaugural Power Rankings. These Power Rankings will highlight the league’s top talents and rising starts. Now, let’s get to the list!

        10. Rhett Tucker

Tucker battled hard in both races and ran near the front in Michigan. A crash on the final lap of Race 1 pushes him down the standings, but continued speed will lead to good finishes throughout the season.

        9. Joseph Plauger

Joseph ran in the Top 10 for the better part of both races and managed to score a Top 5 finish in Race 1 last week. He will be looking to continue this pace at Talladega.

        8. Bradley Rivers

Bradley had a consistent night of racing with a pair of Top 10s in the opening week. Keeping the streak going into week 2 will lead to more success.

        7. Clinton Snead

Snead conserved his tire change until late in Race 1 and was able to drive from 6th to 3rd in the closing laps. He made little ground in Race 2 and will need to find some speed as the season progresses

        6. Toby Ridders

Toby ran into issues early in Race 1 by taking a spin through the infield but rallied to a 6th place finish. He backed that up with a Top 5 in Race 2 to finish up a solid night in Michigan.

        5. Jonathan Tuckness

Jonathan had a solid run in Race 1 and came up just one spot short of the win. He had trouble getting back through the field after the Race 2 invert but still manages a Top 5 Power Ranking.

        4. Ryan Blume

Blume was able to run near the front of both races in Michigan and capped the night off with a podium finish. Continued efforts at this level will undoubtedly lead to victory lane sooner rather than later.

        3. Gabriel Ellison

Gabe was caught up in an incident during the first race, but rebounded to take the win in Race 2. Staying out of trouble will be key to his success this season.

        2. Nicholas Gowin

Gowin picked up the first win of the season, and he was able to rebound from the Race 2 invert to finish 7th in a caution-free race. This speed will certainly lead to more wins throughout the season.

        1. Michael Sturgill

Sturgill opened the season at Michigan with a pair of Top 5s and a strong 2nd place run in Race #2. This performance coupled with a pair of runner-up finishes in the last pre-season races put him solidly at the top of the Power Rankings.
